Second Sunday of Advent

Lo, how a Rose e’er blooming from tender stem hath sprung!
Of Jesse’s lineage coming, as men of old have sung.
It came, a floweret bright, amid the cold of winter,
When half spent was the night.

Isaiah ’twas foretold it, the Rose I have in mind;
With Mary we behold it, the virgin mother kind.
To show God’s love aright, she bore to men a Savior,
When half spent was the night.

This Flower, whose fragrance tender with sweetness fills the air,
Dispels with glorious splendor the darkness everywhere;
True Man, yet very God, from sin and death He saves us,
And lightens every load.

(Listen to it here.)

(And here is a nice discussion of this carol.)

Want to be part of a THANK YOU card for Miss Snark?

Return a picture of yourself if possible NOT IN AN ATTACHMENT (I won't have time to go look up everyone's pics or avatars)

and no more than seven words to:

A lot of us are getting hit with the clue gun and I have no doubt I will be one of them, but I’M STILL GRATEFUL TO HER! Aren’t you?

Please help pass the word to anyone you know who might want to participate, but let’s try to make it a surprise.

Thank you. PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO ANYONE YOU THINK WANTS IN. Not everyone has an e-mail address available to me. If this comes as a blog comment because I didn't know where to e-mail you, please delete it before she sees it!
