...So, Florida it is.

R and F are thrilled. The cats would be if they knew what was going on. I suppose I am, but I'm still just very tired.

The Iowa people graciously asked me to let them know if I change my mind, ever.

I resigned this morning, via email, and have not heard back yet from the corporate boss. Perhaps he hasn't seen it, ha ha. The plant manager knows. I kept him abreast of developments. He said it would be a race to see who got out the door first. Unless he just doesn't give notice, I win.

So I start the Tuesday after Labor Day Memorial Day. No break at all. Since the next paycheck may not happen, that's probably a good thing. (I said this didn't come a moment too soon.)

He might not have seen it--I remember when my dad tried to resign from his previous job, and his boss had taken the day off unexpectedly. Nothing like adding to nervousness there.

Congrats and best wishes for the new job!

I'm confused. You're not taking the job in Iowa, yet you quit your current job? I assume this means you have another FL job lined up?

Ma, I started the Tuesday after Memorial Day. I think it's good luck.

I mean, I completely hated my job and my life and myself for about five months, but then it got better?

by the way, the word verification is nessele, which makes me think of a chocolate Loch Ness monster.

CF, yes. I was contacted about both jobs at about the same time, and the process of interviewing and so forth tracked together. So I was in the position of actually choosing which job I wanted to take, which was surreal after the months and months I'd spent trying to get anybody to give me an offer.

...Now I want a chocolate Loch Ness monster.

Wow, lucky you! That's great news. Now you won't have to uproot again so soon, or move far away from your kid. How gratifying to know you're wanted. :-)

I thank you all.

I survived my first day. Will probably write about it before long. I think it's going to be OK.
